Abstract
This qualitative multiple case study aimed to explore the journey of high-achieving orphan students from the perspectives of their guardians. The study delved into the experiences of six guardians of orphan students who have excelled academically, using purposive sampling to select participants. In-depth interviews were conducted to gather rich, detailed data about the challenges and coping mechanisms faced by the guardians. Through thematic and cross-case analysis, key findings revealed that guardians experienced emotional challenges, such as balancing the students' educational needs with their personal obligations, and managing financial and social pressures. Despite these challenges, guardians demonstrated resilience through adaptive coping strategies, including fostering strong communication with the students, ensuring time management, and seeking external community support. The study also highlighted the positive outcomes of these efforts, such as improved academic performance and emotional well-being of the students. These findings underscore the importance of continued support for both the guardians and the orphan students in navigating their unique circumstances.
