Account & Data Deletion

Scimatic allows you to permanently delete your account and associated personal data. This page explains how to request deletion and what data is affected.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account using either of these methods:

Method 1: From the Scimatic Mobile App

1 Open the Scimatic app and log in to your account.
2 Go to Profile → Settings.
3 Tap "Delete Account".
4 Enter your password to confirm.
5 Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted.

Method 2: Contact Us Directly

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us:

Email: info@scimatic.org
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include: The email address associated with your Scimatic account.
Response time: We will process your request within 7 business days.

Data That Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently removed:

Account credentials (email, password)	Permanently Deleted
Profile information (name, phone, fax, address)	Permanently Deleted
Profile photo	Permanently Deleted
API tokens and session data	Permanently Deleted
Affiliations	Permanently Deleted
Notification history	Permanently Deleted

Data That May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for academic integrity and record-keeping purposes:

Data Type	Reason for Retention
Published manuscripts and articles	Academic record integrity — published research is part of the permanent scholarly record and may have DOIs assigned.
Author name on published works	Required for citation accuracy and academic attribution.
Peer review records	Maintains the integrity of the peer review process for published works.

Note: Retained data is limited to what is necessary for maintaining the integrity of the academic record. No personal contact information is retained after account deletion.
