Abstract
This multiple case study aimed to accumulate and understand the best practices of school paper adviser. Using a purposive sampling and inclusion criteria, the participating six (6) school paper advisers were identified. All of them participated in the in-depth interviews. Results revealed the experiences of the participants: recognizing and motivating students to development, prioritizing open communication, encountering challenges in generating interest and recruiting members; and minimizing adviser influence on student work. In response to how advisers overcome challenges in managing the school paper organization, the following themes were being extracted; commitment to continuous professional growth for effective journalism advising, balancing workload, practicing effective resource management; and fostering students development in journalism by enhancing skill. Upon reflecting to their practices and experiences, they arrived at the following insights: connecting to broader trends, showcasing school achievements, encouraging student participation in campus journalism. The results of this study were deemed significant by the participants, teachers, students, and researchers.
