Factors Influencing the Results of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) of Mindanao State University–Sulu

This study investigated the factors influencing the results of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) among examinees from Mindanao State University–Sulu for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024. Specifically, it examined the respondents' demographic profile in terms of age, sex, civil status, and educational attainment, and assessed the extent of influencing factors across five dimensions: academic preparation and curriculum, socio-economic status, effects of security and political issues, administrative and institutional support, and personal and mental readiness. Using a descriptive research design and purposive sampling, data were gathered through a structured questionnaire. Frequency and percentage were employed for demographic data, mean and standard deviation for determining the extent of factors, t-test and One-Way ANOVA for identifying differences, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation for measuring relationships. Results showed that most respondents were aged 26–35, predominantly female, slightly more married than single, and largely graduate degree holders. Respondents agreed on the considerable influence of the identified factors on LET results. No significant differences were found when grouped by demographic profile, and correlations among sub-categories were low. The findings underscore the multifaceted influences on licensure performance, highlighting the need for targeted interventions to enhance teacher preparation.
