Abstract
This study explored the perceived themes and values from the municipal hymn Matahum nga Talibon and their impact on fostering community engagement and cultural appreciation among the residents of Talibon, Bohol. Using qualitative research methods, the study gathered insights from LGU officials, teachers, students, and ordinary citizens. The thematic analysis revealed key themes: pride and love for Talibon, environmental stewardship and appreciation for nature, heritage and historical identity, and key values: faith and spirituality, peace and unity, hospitality and kindness, patriotism, commitment to progress and development, and respect for nature. These themes and values contribute significantly to strengthening the community's collective identity and participation in local initiatives. The findings recommend the production of a music video to promote the hymn as a tool for cultural preservation and community involvement.
