Abstract

The goal of this study was to examine the factors that determined the physical performance of volleyball players at the Zamboanga del Sur National High School, Sta. Maria, Pagadian City for SY 2025–2026. More precisely, this study focused on three main aspects of physical performance: endurance, strength, and recovery performance. Most parts of the study were governed by the quantitative research methodology that employed systematic testing of the participants and questionnaires. The descriptive and comparative outcomes of the study confirmed that the players who practiced proper nutrition and hydration had better aerobic performance, strength, and agility than those who did not pay attention to their nutrition. Therefore, it was concluded that nutrition-related strategies had a positive influence on the physical performance of high school volleyball players. A personalized intervention program entitled "Fuel, Perform, Recover: A VILLANUEVA Practical Nutrition Program" was developed to promote healthy eating habits, proper hydration, and effective recovery practices among student-athletes.
