Abstract
This study aimed to look into the byways of Ilonggo Physical Education teachers’ myriad roles. Six teacher-coaches were the participants of this study. They were purposively selected based on the degree they graduated. To acquire correct and reliable facts that would support the study, phenomenological approach was utilized. The results of the study were based on the stories of the participants that were gathered through a one-on-one interview. Artifacts like pictures of classroom teaching and sports training were also used to augment the gathered data. The ideas of constructionism and phenomenology backed-up the thematic analysis of the data. Findings revealed that the participants viewed P.E as a subject that develops the totality of the child through physical activities. They acknowledged that they are doing two full-time responsibilities but they are happy whenever they can help and bring out the best in their students and athletes. Furthermore, being flexible, firm in command, great organizers and passionate are some of the characteristics that they have that made them different among other teachers. Ultimately, incredible drive is the driving force behind their success in molding and honing students and athletes and in loving the dual role of both teaching and coaching.
