Abstract

This study examined the practices and challenges of School-Based Management (SBM) Coordinators in selected public elementary schools and used the findings as the basis for developing and validating a Digitized School-Based Management Data Banking System (DSDBS). Using a quantitative descriptive and evaluative design, the study identified strong existing practices in data collection, organization, analysis, validation, and safekeeping, while also documenting persistent difficulties related to inconsistent submissions, missing records, manual consolidation, and fragmented storage. Data validation emerged as the most pressing challenge, followed by concerns in data collection and safekeeping. In response, the DSDBS was developed as a centralized web-based platform intended to support data collection, organization, analysis, validation, and secure storage of SBM-related records. The system was rated Highly Effective by all of the respondents, particularly in collaboration and compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. The findings indicate that a structured digital data banking system can reduce manual workload, improve data reliability, and support evidence-based school planning and decision-making among SBM Coordinators and school heads.
