Abstract
This study examines the key factors influencing the participation of Grade 7 students in ASEAN Studies, focusing on student motivation, learning styles, self-efficacy, teaching quality and support, learning environment, and socio-economic status. Using a descriptive-survey design, data were collected from 288 Grade 7 students in a public school in Sariaya, Quezon through a validated 60-item questionnaire measured on a four-point Likert scale. Weighted Arithmetic Mean (WAM) was applied to determine the extent of influence each factor exerts on student participation. Findings indicate that teaching quality and support, particularly the use of engaging instructional methods, clear explanations, and enthusiastic guidance, serve as the strongest contributors to student engagement in ASEAN Studies. Based on these results, an infomercial was developed to present the motivational elements identified in the study visually. The findings further recommend strengthening instructional practices through collaborative tasks, real-life applications, and consistent interactive approaches to enhance student participation.
