Abstract
This study explored the leadership journey of women in SOCSARGEN. A sequential exploratory design was employed to capture the nuances of these women's leadership experiences, integrating qualitative and quantitative data, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors that influence women's leadership development. The qualitative and quantitative findings in this sequential exploratory study showed that women’s leadership development in SOCSARGEN is formed by four interrelated factors, namely, Intrinsic Leadership Attributes, Familial Foundations, Organizational Enablers, and Societal Influences. The qualitative phase identified these themes through in-depth interviews. In contrast, the quantitative phase, using a validated survey instrument, which was crafted from the themes, confirmed their significance, with Intrinsic Leadership Attributes and Organizational Enablers showing the highest median impact scores (5.0), followed by Familial Foundations and Societal Influences (4.0). The findings led to the development of the SOCSARGEN Women’s Leadership Model (SWLM), a comprehensive framework for understanding women's leadership, incorporating the factors that influence their leadership journey. This model highlights the need for a multifaceted approach that addresses the complex interplay of factors shaping women's leadership journeys.
