Abstract
This study aimed to determine the benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon. It determined the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, and place of residence. It also revealed the benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon in terms of economic, environmental, and cultural. The researcher used a descriptive survey method of research. This study employed simple random sampling design. Under this procedure, the researcher considered using one hundred (100) respondents in selected bargains in Gumaca, Quezon to get 100% of the respondents. This study determined that the majority of the visitors in the park are ages 32 years old and above, which accounts for 29% of the total respondents. Male and female both commonly visit the park with a total of 50% total of respondents. Most of the respondents live in Brgy. Penafrancia in Gumaca, Quezon which accounts for 31% of the total respondents. This study found out that the average mean of 4.148 interpreted as Agree indicated most of the respondents agreed on the benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon in terms of economics. Likewise, the average mean of 4.092 interpreted as Agree, indicated that most of the respondents agreed on the benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon in terms of environmental. The average mean of 4.154 interpreted as Agree, indicated that most of the respondents agreed on the benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon in terms of culture. Based on the results of Kruskal Wallis H-test the null hypothesis of age, sex, and place of residence are accepted, which means that there is no significant difference on the perceived benefits of enhancing and promoting San Diego Park as a tourist spot in Gumaca, Quezon when respondents are grouped according to age, sex, and place of residence. From the result of this study, the following were recommended; Local Communities, this may help to foster a sense of community and belonging and serve as a gathering place for people of all ages and backgrounds to socialize, interact, and build relationships with one another. Local Officials will be able to generate revenue through entrance fees, taxes, and other sources, contributing to the local and national economy. Tourists, this may help them to understand the importance of preserving natural resources and protecting the environment. And for future researchers, this study may be beneficial to those who will conduct similar studies in the same field in a way that will be able to use this for their related studies.
