Teaching Skills, Stress Management, and Challenges of Teachers in Relation to Performance: Basis for Development Plan

Abstract

The study determined the level of teaching skills, stress management and challenges of high school teachers in 9 secondary schools in the division of Bago City in relation to their performance for S.Y. 2023-2024. A sample size of 220 teachers were the respondents of the study. A standardized questionnaire was used to measure the level of teaching skills and a validated and reliability tested questionnaires were used to measure the stress management and challenges encountered by high school teachers. The results of the study showed that the level of teaching skills of teachers was very high, the level of stress management of teachers was very good, the extent of challenges encountered by teachers was at a great extent, and the level of teaching performance of teachers was outstanding. It was also noted that there was no significant relationship between the teaching skills of teachers and their teaching performance, between the stress management and their teaching performance, and between the challenges encountered by teachers and their performance.
