Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate teachers’ perceptions of professional development in terms of teachers’ efficacy in leadership, relationships with other co-teachers, and teachers’ resilience and level of satisfaction with their professional development among teacher respondents in the District of Quezon, Bukidnon. The study utilized a quantitative research design. It is used to understand underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research. This study revealed that teachers agreed that professional development helps them in various aspects of leadership. The highest mean score was given to the indicator that professional development helps teachers know what a true leader is theoretically and practically, followed closely by the indicators that professional development helps teachers know different strategies to develop and improve their leadership skills and that training helps teachers develop leadership skills in handling other teachers. Overall, the teachers agreed that professional development is essential in developing their leadership skills. However, the teachers decided that training and professional development have helped them create better character and understanding of their colleagues, which is necessary in a school environment. They also agreed that good relationships with co-teachers are crucial for successful teaching performance and that professional development has improved their ability to handle different kinds of teachers in their school. Overall, the teachers agreed that professional development positively impacts their co-teacher relationship. Finally, the positive perception of professional development is strongly linked to higher teacher satisfaction levels. It is essential to foster positive perceptions of professional development initiatives to enhance teacher satisfaction and professional growth. Finally, future researchers are encouraged to conduct further studies to broaden their professional development perspective and contribute to more comprehensive and meaningful professional growth.
