Abstract

This study assessed the competency level in technology integration among pre-service Social Studies teachers during the second semester of Academic Year 2024–2025. Specifically, it examined their technological skills, pedagogical skills, and content knowledge to identify strengths and areas for development. Utilizing a descriptive research design, data were gathered through a validated questionnaire answered by cooperating teachers. The results revealed that the pre-service teachers were “Competent” in technological skills, particularly in using basic tools such as laptops, projectors, and Microsoft Office applications. In terms of pedagogical skills and content knowledge, they were rated “Highly Competent,” demonstrating strong foundations in contextualizing Social Studies lessons and using technology to enhance instruction. However, the study also identified a need for further training in creative teaching approaches, troubleshooting, and integrating global and multicultural perspectives. Based on these findings, a video material was developed to address specific areas of improvement. The study concluded that while pre-service Social Studies teachers possess solid competencies, continuous professional development is necessary to meet the evolving demands of 21st-century education. Recommendations include advanced training programs, improved access to technological resources, and further research exploring other influencing factors in technology integration. Overall, this study contributes to strengthening the preparation of future Social Studies educators towards effective and innovative teaching practices.
