Abstract
This research aimed to ascertain the effectiveness of contextualized learning worksheets for physical science instruction using the ADDIE model in improving students’ performance in Physical Science 11 among the students of Matab-ang National High School as a basis for an enhanced learning worksheet based on the ADDIE model during the School Year 2024-2025. A quasi-experimental research design was used in this study with a total of 60 respondents, utilizing an adapted questionnaire from Punzalan & Monserrat (2016), Del Mundo (2020), and Fallarna (2020) for pretest and posttest designed to measure students’ knowledge on the cited learning competencies in Physical Science 11 and a validated researcher-made survey questionnaire for students’ engagement level. The study revealed no significant difference in the pretest performances between the control and experimental group, with a fairly satisfactory performance. Furthermore, the study revealed a significant difference between the posttest performance of the two groups of respondents, implying an improved performance in their scores. Additionally, this study also showed that students believed that the use of the specified learning worksheets had enhanced their engagement in understanding scientific concepts. Thus, it is recommended that improved learning worksheets for physical science instruction using the ADDIE model be used to increase students’ scores in physical science.
