Radio-Based Instruction as an Alternative Learning: Its Effectiveness in Teaching-Learning Amidst Pandemic

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Radio-Based Instruction (RBI) in the concepts of Pagsulat sa Filipino sa Piling Larang to the sixty (60) Technical Vocational and Livelihood students of Grade Twelve of President Quirino National High School - Senior High School during the school year 2020-2021.The set of thirty-item (30) questionnaire was used by the researchers to conduct pretest and posttest. The study applied experimental design as a method of study specifically Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design. There were two (2) groups needed in the study, the experimental and control groups. The results of the pretest and posttest were subjected to statistical treatment to determine if there was significant difference between the experimental group and control group. A two-tailed t-test was used as a statistical tool a 0.05 level of significance. On the basis of the findings of this study, the performance of the experimental group significantly surpassed that of the control group in which the hypothesis is rejected. This strategic increase of the mean scores of the posttest of the experimental group indicated significant difference in the performance of the respondents after the experiment.
