Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Beconz Software in improving reading comprehension. The intervention was designed to incorporate interactive features for reading sessions and activities, catering to learners with diverse learning styles, including auditory and visual preferences, to support their reading needs. A reading comprehension questionnaire was utilized to assess pretest scores using printed text among a single group of subjects. In contrast, Beconz Software was administered during the posttest, using learning tablets and headsets. The subject was the grade four section from Kawit Occidental Elementary School in the Kauswagan District, Division of Lanao del Norte, as part of a one-group pretest and posttest research design. The data revealed that most learners demonstrated improvements in their reading comprehension because of the intervention. Notably, there was an increased number of independent learners who achieved higher scores in the posttest than in the pretest, along with a significant decrease in the number of participants who fell into the frustration level category. The study concludes that Beconz Software has the potential to improve the reading comprehension of learners.
