Abstract
This study investigates the mastery levels of Mathematics IV competencies among Grade IV pupils at Acasia Elementary School during the 2023-2024 academic year. The study highlights the critical role of foundational mathematics in developing essential skills for academic success. Using a quantitative approach, the study involved creating a summative test based on identified unmastered competencies, which was administered to evaluate pupils' understanding of key mathematical concepts. Results revealed significant deficiencies, with many competencies receiving alarmingly low mastery percentages, particularly in areas such as rounding, multiplication, and division. The findings underscore the urgent need for targeted instructional interventions and the establishment of a tutorial program to enhance pupils' mathematical skills.
