Abstract

This study employed a correlational method that aimed to find the relationship of the two variables where the sociability is the independent variable, a manipulated variable that cause a change to dependent variable which is the academic achievement, a variable affected by the independent variable. A survey method and sociometric test was primarily used to collect necessary data. The study revealed that most of the senior high school students are moderately sociable (40.82%). The study showed that the academic achievement of the students are satisfactory averaging from 80 to 84. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted which strongly suggest ther is no significant relationship between sociability and academic achievement of the students. An action plan was proposed to enhance the sociability and the academic achievement of the students. The findings imply that although sociability is not a factor that affect the academic achievement of the students. Various interactive activities and suitable teaching strategies and techniques for students may be employed by the parents and teachers consecutively to support students specifically in enhancing their social skills and in coping up with their academic performance.
