Abstract

The study assessed the instructional attributes and TLE teachers’ performance by prescribed TESDA and DepEd regulations. It determined the teachers’ profile and instructional attributes along the four areas of TLE. It also measured the performance of TLE teachers in content knowledge, pedagogical approach, classroom management, ICT integration, and assessment and evaluation. The descriptive-correlational design was used, with a researcher-made questionnaire as the main data-gathering instrument. Results revealed that the majority of the respondents are 26 years old and the majority are female. Additionally, majority of the respondents are single and are specialized in Home Economics. Moreover, majority of the respondents have been teaching for less than 10 years and attained a bachelor’s degree. Based on the result of the study, it revealed that TLE teachers are competent with their instructional attributes in terms of Home Economics, Industrial Arts, ICT, and Agri-Fishery Arts, as with their performance. The profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, civil status, and highest educational attainment, is not statistically significant with their instructional attributes. Moreover, it showed a significant difference for Home Economics, Industrial Arts, and Agri-Fishery Arts, while ICT is not significant when grouped according to area of specialization. It also revealed that the profile of the respondents does not moderate relationship with TLE teachers’ instructional attributes and performance. This became the basis for the output which is a competency-based training program.
