Abstract

This study investigated the perceived benefits of Integrated Diversified Organic Family Farming Systems (IDOFFS) among smallholder farmers in Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Philippines. Utilizing the PRISMA framework (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses), the study systematically reviewed six publications, with eligibility criteria derived from Scopus (10%), ResearchGate (70%), and AGRIS (20%). The studies comprised 30% quantitative, 40% qualitative, and 30% mixed-methods research. Key findings highlighted that IDOFFS provided substantial economic benefits, with reports indicating an average increase of 25–40% in household income and a 15–30% reduction in production costs. Environmental improvements were also significant, with studies noting a 20% increase in soil organic matter and reduced dependence on chemical inputs by 35%. Furthermore, farmers gained enhanced access to extension activities, such as training programs, which led to a 40% improvement in knowledge of sustainable farming practices and contributed to food security at both household and community levels. These findings underscore the transformative potential of IDOFFS in fostering economic resilience, environmental sustainability, and agricultural education.
