Abstract

The study centered on describing the experiences, coping mechanisms, and personal insights of the members of the Collegial, the official student publication of Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology. The aim was to determine the experiences, coping mechanisms, and insights encountered by these members. A qualitative, phenomenological research design was utilized, involving 14 participants from the Collegial. It was found that the members experienced difficulties due to time constraints, the need to equip themselves with research and communication skills, facing criticism in the organization, and dealing with inadequate resources. In terms of coping mechanisms, several themes emerged from the informants' responses: managing time strategically, maintaining open communication and effective collaboration, being motivated by passion and purpose, adhering to truth, and fostering trust. Insights revealed included conducting mock examinations as essential, recognizing teamwork as a catalyst for success, advocating for the unheard and empowering individuals to achieve excellence, and the necessity of possessing versatility and flexibility. The study emphasizes the need for strong support systems, mental health services, and open communication to enhance Collegial members' learning and well-being. It also advocates for further research across diverse educational environments to improve journalism education and student welfare comprehensively.
