Abstract
This study aims to investigate the extent of utilization of play in the instructional delivery of kindergarten education among public elementary school teachers in SDO Pangasinan II, particularly Asingan Districts I and II and San Manuel District, during the S.Y. 2022-2023. Utilizing a descriptive research method, the study involved a total of 42 respondents who were kindergarten teachers from various public elementary schools in the said locale of the study. The findings revealed that majority of the respondents were aged 41-50 years old, predominantly females, married, and held the position of Teacher III. A significant number of teachers had earned their Master's degree units and had 6-10 years of teaching experience in kindergarten. The study indicated that the kindergarten teachers employed a balanced and varied approach to play-based learning, recognizing the significance of different play types in promoting holistic development. The extent of play utilization was rated as "Very Extensive" across all domains. No significant differences were found based on teachers' profiles, except for civil status, which showed a significant relationship. The study recommends that teachers continue their professional development, maintain the utilization of play, and participate in in-service training programs. Further research is encouraged to explore additional aspects of play utilization and its impact on kindergarten education.
