Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of satisfaction in Modular-Based Learning of Elementary Teachers in Don Carlos II District in Araling Panlipunan and their Academic Achievement for school year 2021-2022. Based on the data gathered, the major findings are the following: Modular learning is a type of distant education that makes use of self-study modules. These self-learning modules are based on the Department of Education's most essential learning competencies (MELCS). This current study reveals that in terms of the level of satisfaction in modular-based learning of teachers in terms of learner’s relevance, learning engagement and learner’s autonomy, learner’s assessments, and learner’s procedure on module distribution and retrieval, the result shows that the teachers are satisfied on the modular learning. It also shows that the level of academic achievement of learners in Araling Panlipunan using the modular learning was satisfactory. This study shows that when the teachers were grouped according to their demographic profile, their level of satisfaction in modular learning does not significantly differ in age, gender, number of years in teaching and highest educational attainment. Based on the results, it is recommended that teachers may continue improving themselves like studying more in post graduate studies and attending trainings and seminars. School heads may encourage and support the teacher for any means of educational development. Finally, to the future researchers to conduct study with similar subject to cover a bigger sample size and consider other aspects of modular learning relevant to the teaching and learning process.
