Abstract

Despite extensive research on the role of teachers as instructional leaders, limited studies have explored how their leadership practices specifically influence diverse student learning outcomes across various educational contexts. Additionally, there is a need for more empirical evidence linking instructional leadership practices directly to measurable improvements in students’ learning experiences and achievements. This study aimed to examine the role of teachers as instructional leaders in improving student learning. The researcher utilized a descriptive-correlational design to investigate and describe the relationships between variables, particularly when manipulating variables is impractical or unethical. The result revealed that the level of the role of teachers as instructional leaders in terms of teachers as facilitators of learning, teachers as advocates for students' needs, teachers as mentors and role models, indicates a very high level. Moreover, the level of students' learning in terms of performance, participation, and comprehension indicates a high level. Another result revealed a significant relationship between the role of teachers as instructional leaders and students' learning. Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected. These suggest schools continue implementing student-centered teaching approaches that foster engagement, critical thinking, and deeper comprehension. Encouraging interactive and collaborative learning activities can strengthen participation and comprehension. Additionally, schools should invest in continuous teacher training programs that enhance instructional leadership skills, ensuring that teachers remain effective in guiding and supporting students. Encouraging collaboration among educators, sharing best practices, and fostering mentorship within the teaching community can also improve student learning. Additionally, educational institutions should create policies and provide resources that empower teachers to sustain high-quality instruction, ultimately leading to better student engagement and achievement.
