Abstract

This study investigated how financial literacy influences the strategic planning skills of 176 Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) students at Assumption College of Nabunturan for the 2025-2026 academic year. The study utilized a quantitative research method, employing a descriptive correlational research design, in examining the correlation between the level of financial literacy and the level of strategic planning skills. The researchers wanted to see if knowing how to manage money helps students become better at planning for the future, with the goal of creating a training program to improve these skills. The study looked at five areas of financial literacy: income, expenses, debt, credit, and savings and two areas of strategic planning competence: business plan development. The results showed that these students already have a very high level of both financial literacy and strategic planning skills, with almost all areas receiving a strongly agree rating. Statistical tests revealed a strong positive relationship between the two, meaning that as a student's understanding of money grows, their ability to plan strategically also improves. While factors like income, expenses, debt, and savings were important, the study found that credit did not have a significant impact on this specific group. Ultimately, the study concludes that financial literacy is a vital foundation for future office administrators, and it recommends that schools integrate practical financial and planning lessons into their classes to help students succeed in their future careers.
