Abstract

This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of SPED teachers navigating instructional challenges in special education classrooms at Luta Elementary School, Malvar, Batangas during School Year 2025–2026. Using transcendental phenomenology, five purposively selected SPED teachers participated in semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis revealed six major themes: (1) adaptive instructional strategies, (2) managing diverse learning needs, (3) communication barriers, (4) behavioral challenges, (5) coping through resilience and reflection, and (6) reliance on institutional and collegial support. Findings highlight SPED teachers’ creativity under constrained classroom conditions and their commitment to inclusive practices. A development program is proposed to strengthen instructional competence, classroom management, and professional support systems.
