Abstract
This study examined the pedagogical approaches of Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) teachers in public Tech-Voc schools in General Santos City, focusing on how these methods engage students and enhance learning outcomes. Using a qualitative single case study design, five ABM teachers were interviewed to gain an in-depth understanding of their teaching practices in business-related subjects. Findings revealed several key themes: experiencing real integration, finding joy in progress, sparking classroom creativity, practical learning engagement, creative student achievement, and teaching values through application. Challenges identified involved managing student difficulties, complex topics, sustaining student interest, engaging through real scenarios, challenges in practical application, engagement with technical topics, and engaging business structures. To cope, teachers employed strategies such as integrating life applications, encouraging student participation, managing class attention well, applied learning strategies, a flipped classroom approach, business simulation games, applying what they learn, interactive learning techniques, and connecting lessons to real life. Participants emphasized patience and flexibility, interactive flexible lessons, engaging hands-on learning, interactive teaching methods, creativity in teaching, and practical application focus. Professional development focused on simplifying complex concepts and connecting learning to real-world situations, highlighting the importance of adaptive and student-centered approaches. Overall, the study underscores that effective ABM teaching combines interactive, practical, and value-driven strategies to support student engagement and achievement in business education.
