Abstract
This research examined the link between transformational leadership and emotional intelligence among student representatives at Tacurong National High School. A total of 70 student leaders from the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) participated in the study. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational quantitative framework, the researchers selected participants through purposive sampling to capture authentic leadership data. Tools for data collection included adapted surveys, which were analyzed using Pearson Correlation, Multiple Regression, and Mean. Findings revealed that the level of emotional intelligence is high (mean=2.75) and the level of transformational leadership of students is also high (mean=3.16). Furthermore, they demonstrated strong transformational leadership, specifically in areas of personal recognition and supportive guidance. The analysis showed a moderate positive correlation (p-value=0.000; r-value=0.558) between emotional intelligence and transformational styles, and for the regression analysis, emotional intelligence indicators, negative personal traits, and other personal traits have a significant influence on the transformational leadership among student leaders. The study concludes that internal emotional skills, particularly the regulation of personal traits, are vital for effective school governance and should be integrated into leadership training programs.
