Abstract
As schools strive to provide holistic education, support services such as Guidance and Counseling and Prefects of Discipline (POD) have become integral in shaping students’ academic success, emotional well-being, and behavioral growth. However, limited research has examined students’ actual satisfaction with these services in senior high school. This study sought to determine the level of satisfaction of Grade 12 students at Saint Mary’s University Senior High School (SMUSHS) with the Guidance and Counseling with POD services for School Year 2025-2026. Descriptive-comparative research was employed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data was gathered through a validated questionnaire with a four-point Likert scale and an open-ended question, administered to 197 randomly selected respondents. Findings revealed that students were generally “Very Satisfied” with both Guidance and Counseling and POD services, particularly appreciating confidentiality in counseling and professionalism in administrative tasks. However, areas such as website accessibility and consistency in rule enforcement were identified as needing improvement. Statistical analysis showed no significant differences in satisfaction levels when grouped according to sex or academic strand, suggesting equitable service delivery across demographics. Thematic analysis further highlighted students’ recommendations, which included stricter yet fairer policy implementation, more staff in the POD office, and increased one-on-one counseling opportunities. This study underscores the importance of continuous evaluation of student services. It can serve as a basis for enhancing institutional policies, strengthening support systems, and fostering a positive and inclusive school climate.
