Abstract
This study aimed to determine the influence of community-based project integration on the civic awareness and involvement of Grade 4, 5, and 6 learners in Bagong Silang Elementary School during the School Year 2024-2025. Specifically, it sought to assess the learners’ profile, the level of community-based project integration in environmental clean-up drives, community feeding programs, local heritage documentation, and school-led outreach programs, and the learners’ civic awareness and involvement. This study is descriptive-correlational, making use of the 5-point Likert scale for scoring, mean, standard deviation, and correlation. Based on the data gathered, the significant findings of the study are the following: The level of community-based project integration in the school was high in terms of environmental clean-up drives, community feeding programs, local heritage documentation, and school-led outreach activities. Learners demonstrated a high level of civic awareness, particularly in understanding community issues, valuing responsible citizenship, and recognizing their role as active members of society. Similarly, the learners’ civic involvement was found to be high, as reflected in their active participation in community projects, volunteerism, and application of civic values in school and community activities. Furthermore, there was a significant positive relationship between the level of community-based project integration and the learners’ civic awareness and civic involvement, indicating that participation in community-based projects enhances both awareness and engagement in civic responsibilities.
