Abstract
School heads are tasked with administrative and supervisory functions, along with management and leadership roles. Performance of these functions and roles determines, to a certain extent, the success of the implementation of school policies, programs, and curriculum activities. Today, the constant demand for better and more effective leaders necessitates an assessment of their performance of official functions and practices. This study aims to describe the institutional management of the school heads in selected elementary schools in San Vicente, San Lorenzo Ruiz District. This study aims to describe the institutional management of the school heads in selected elementary schools in San Vicente – San Lorenzo Ruiz District. To attain this objective, the descriptive method of research was used since it is deemed most appropriate in determining current practices, situations, and some related issues related to the main topic of this study. As a result, the school heads’ performance of administrative functions in terms of implementation of policy, execution of instructional programs, selection, induction, and retention of school personnel, and financial management is very satisfactory. Lastly, this study recommended that school heads should design criteria and guidelines in determining which actions are effective in the implementation of school policies, in resolving conflicts, in selecting/inducting school personnel, and in retaining and promoting them.
