Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to assess the parents' commitment to their child's learning achievements. Specifically, this study sought to: (1) determine the extent of parental characteristics in terms of attitude towards children's education, and mentoring relationship; (2) assess the pupils' academic achievements when categorized as outstanding, very satisfactory, satisfactory, fairly satisfactory, and did not meet expectation; and (3) find the correlation between the pupils' academic achievements and parental commitment in terms of attitude towards children's education, and mentoring relationship. This study employed a descriptive survey method wherein the researcher analyzed, interpreted, and reported the present status of the problem. Further, the pupils' academic achievements were significantly influenced by their parents' attitudes toward education. Therefore, the pupils are inspired to study if they feel the support from their parents. Hence, it is recommended that parents establish proper guidelines for tutoring their child. Home learning is important to develop so that parents can adapt to the sudden changes in teaching and learning modalities in school. They are encouraged to responsibly monitor the learning habits of their child.
