Abstract
This research study explored the implementation, effectiveness, and challenges of green practices in ten (10) beach resorts in San Juan, La Union. Using a quantitative approach, the study utilized survey questionnaires to gather data from 190 purposively selected respondents. The data measured the duration of implementation, the level of effectiveness, and the specific challenges of various green practices and innovations within the resorts. The results revealed that, on average, the resorts have been implementing green practices for four (4) years. While waste management—specifically waste segregation—has been part of their established routine for many years, significant challenges remain. The findings highlight that energy conservation, particularly the installation of solar panels, and the lack of government support are the primary obstacles faced by these establishments. The study concludes that while green initiatives are being actively pursued, persistent problems require a collaborative effort; it is recommended that all stakeholders cooperate because achieving sustainable tourism "takes a village.”
