Abstract
This study focuses on assessing the factors of mental health consultation resistance among marginalized individuals. A total of 397 respondents participated in the study. The researcher created a self-made questionnaire, which is a 10-item 5-Point Likert Scale that measures six factors, such as Cultural Belief, Influence of social media, Economic Barriers, Negative Bias/Stigma, Fear, and Access to Mental Health Services. Respondents were profiled according to age, sex, highest educational attainment, income level, and living status. The findings underscore the need for targeted mental health awareness programs that are culturally sensitive, accessible, and rooted in community engagement. These programs must also address misinformation and reinforce the role of credible mental health professionals. This study offers data-driven insights to inform policy-making and the development of mental health interventions for underserved communities.
