Abstract
This study aimed to determine the level of awareness of mirroring cultural identity and nationhood using the community landscape in Gumaca, Quezon. A descriptive research design with proportionate random sampling was employed, involving one hundred (100) Junior High School students from a selected private school. The respondents’ profiles were analyzed in terms of age, sex, and grade level. The level of awareness was examined across five aspects: physical environment, history, economic activities, non-material culture, and political awareness. Results revealed that respondents were Very Aware in all areas, with the highest awareness observed in non-material culture. The Kruskal-Wallis H-test showed no significant difference in the level of awareness when respondents were grouped according to their profile. The findings suggest that students possess a strong awareness of their cultural identity and nationhood as reflected in their community landscape.
