Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the afternoon shift schedule on the well-being of Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) students at Tacurong National High School. Utilizing a quantitative, non-experimental design with a descriptive-correlation technique, data were collected from 154 respondents through questionnaires and analyzed using mean scores and multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal a high overall rating for the afternoon shift schedule, as indicated by both the Study Time Availability and Classroom Engagement and Focus metrics. Additionally, the level of student well-being is also high; however, the lowest scores were recorded for physical well-being, suggesting that some students face challenges in maintaining good physical health. In contrast, social interactions received the highest scores, indicating strong peer connections. The study concludes that both study time availability and classroom engagement significantly predict student well-being. Based on these results, a program titled “Boss Up Your Study Time: Merging Physical Wellness for Academic Success” is proposed to enhance students' study time and physical well-being, effectively addressing the dual challenges faced by ABM students.
