Utilization of RPMS Classroom Observation Tool among MAPEH Teachers in Tacloban City Division

Abstract

The study assessed the utilization of RPMS classroom observation tool among MAPEH teachers in Tacloban City Division. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design, involving 73 public junior high school MAPEH teachers from Tacloban City Division as respondents. The findings revealed that most MAPEH teachers in Tacloban City Division are below middle-aged, female, with over 10 years of experience, possess a Baccalaureate Degree with Master's Units; and mostly proficient teachers. Moreover, the majority of trainings and seminars are local, with lower participation rates at higher seminar levels. Classroom observation tools are "Fully Utilized" for proficient and highly proficient teachers, regardless of school size. The study found no significant correlation between profile variables and utilization, and no significant differences in utilization across different school categories. It is advised that Junior High School MAPEH teachers seek professional development and post-graduate coursework, while DepEd Tacloban officials should promote collaboration, resource utilization, and feedback among teachers for enhanced teaching effectiveness.
