Abstract
The vaccine is one of the most reliable protection against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study aimed to determine the parents’ perceptions of the implementation of COVID-19 vaccines. The 15 parent-participants of the unvaccinated students of ARMM Regional Science High School were the respondents of the study. The modified survey questionnaire from Kaiser Family Foundation (2021) was utilized in this study to determine the responses of parents on the implementation of COVID-19 vaccines through the descriptive-survey method. Results revealed that parents were not too confident with the COVID-19 vaccine safety (mean=2.6), yet they were not worried about its side effects if they let their child get vaccinated (mean=3.6), and it makes them very worried when their child gets seriously sick from COVID -19 (mean=3.5). Also, they did have not much trust in their child’s pediatrician in terms of reliable information (mean=2.2) and they believed it has no impact on their decision to not get their child vaccinated after talking to a pediatrician (mean=2.7). Furthermore, parents have enough information about the COVID-19 vaccine and infection with the help of their trusted source the public health department and they were even encouraged by their child’s school but they were mainly worried about their child's safety due to its side effects hence their child is still not vaccinated.
