Abstract
Spiritual education is based on reflection and emotional sensitivity, which gives inner strength and empathy. It relates to the sense of community or the natural environment, whereas moral education inculcates values such as ethics and respect towards others. These two promote all-round development, readying students for being caring, responsible, and introspective individuals toward society. This study focused on the integration of moral and spiritual thoughts in school education, which could enhance moral integrity, sense of responsibility, and social justice as it explores the impact of spirituality and legal culture. Using data mining, the research analyzed the spiritual and moral education practices across countries against the backdrop of patriotism and legal culture; common themes found include diversity, non-religious thinking, and human rights. The Capability Approach and Social Identity Theory were essential for combining spiritual and moral education, to provide comprehensive ethical and spiritual frameworks. Social Identity Theory and Capability Approach can be implemented when researching the integration of spiritual and moral education with a view to bringing ethics to community decision-making, compassion, and purpose. Again, more research will need to be conducted concerning potential impacts that independence, nationalism, and patriotism will bring to national identity, social cohesion, and relationships between patriotism and economic development.
