Abstract
This study explores the intricate relationships between demographic profiles and perceptions of digital politics, e-democracy, and related aspects. A sample of 640 participants from diverse backgrounds in the Visayas and Mindanao regions of the Philippines was surveyed, encompassing age, gender, educational level, employment status, monthly household income, and residential area. Correlation analysis unveiled significant associations between these variables and participants' perceptions of setbacks, political exposure, engagement, and integrity. Age exhibited correlations with educational level and employment status, suggesting that younger individuals tend to possess higher educational achievements and are less likely to be employed full-time. Gender correlated with increased political engagement among female participants, hinting at differing inclinations toward political activities. Educational level emerged as a significant factor in participants' perspectives on exposure, employment status, and income, highlighting its impact on nuanced political perceptions. No substantial correlations were found between residential area and other variables, indicating that geographical location may not strongly influence political perspectives in the digital age. However, correlations underscored age's potential influence on perceptions of digital political and e-democracy-related setbacks. This research enhances understanding of how demographic factors intersect with perceptions of digital politics and e-democracy, providing insights for policymakers and practitioners to design tailored strategies for informed and inclusive political engagement. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on digital democracy, underscoring the importance of continued investigation into the dynamic interplay of demographics and political perceptions in the evolving digital landscape.
