Abstract
This study investigated the correlations among academic grit, playfulness, and attitudes toward physical education (PE) in 100 senior high school students at Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon), Inc. Correlational analyses revealed positive associations among these variables. However, multiple regression analysis indicated that only academic perseverance significantly predicted attitudes toward PE (β = .267, p = .014), explaining 63.5% of the variance in students’ attitudes. The playfulness subscales were omitted from the regression model because of multicollinearity and were not significant predictors. The findings underscore the essential role of academic perseverance in cultivating favourable attitudes toward physical education, indicating that educators should prioritize persistence to enhance student involvement in this domain.
