Abstract
The study about the determinant factors influencing academic performance and cohort survival rates of Grade 10 students at Salumping National High School aimed to quantify the respondents’ responses the factors that influence academic performance and cohort survival rates. By employing a quantitative methods approach, the research identifies key variables that contribute to student cohort survival rates, focusing on the three dimensions such as; individual, social and institutional aspects. The study was conducted at Salumping National High school, salumping Esperanza Sultan Kudarat with 35 students’ respondents from grade 10 and 18 teachers’ respondents including the school head using purposive sampling for students and total enumeration for teachers. Data was collected through surveys and academic records to assess academic achievements, retention rates and dropout rates. The findings reveal significant correlations between identified factors influencing academic performance and cohort survival rates. And based on the results and analysis, the study highlighted all the targeted interventions or recommendation to provide sustainable solutions for improvement of the educational system of the school and enhance the academic performance of the students.
