Abstract
The study examined how parents from varying educational backgrounds prepare their children for the new normal classes. Using a qualitative cross-case analysis, it investigated the preparations of the parents. The informants were chosen using purposive sampling. It was revealed that parents were involved in assisting their children in the new educational landscape. The college-graduate parents emphasized providing learning materials and resources to help their children. Furthermore, parents prioritized their children's overall physical well-being. Also, parents assisted, gave constant reminders, and established direction when handling their child's emotions. Parents have experienced utilizing technology to support their children. Meanwhile, it was revealed in the cross-case analysis that college graduates prioritized using learning resources and materials, while elementary and high school graduates focused on support and advice. In addition, parents prepared by providing gadgets; however, college-graduate and high-school graduate-level parents highlighted the guidance on using the gadgets. Parents concurred that their children need preparations and assistance and that their primary concern should be their health. High school and college graduates showed similarities as they highlighted making friends with others. On the other hand, elementary-level parents enforce a positive attitude. Thus, it is recommended to conduct workshops or seminars to parents on how to support learning at home, provide social-emotional development training for parents, intensify and enhance safety and health standards, and enhance parents' technical knowledge and skills.
