Abstract
This quasi-experimental study was conducted to examine the effect of Quizizz on students' level of engagement in an online course in Panitikang Pilipino during the Academic Year 2022-2023. A researcher-made questionnaire with a 1-5 Likert scale was validated by experts to be used to determine the level of engagement among students. Results revealed that students in both groups, lecture-discussion and Quizizz, maintained a very highly engaged level in studying and participating in the online Panitikang Pilipino course before and after the intervention. Although the findings showed no significant difference in the level of engagement between students in both groups, the results imply that the use of Quizizz sustained students' engagement at a level comparable to the use of the lecture-discussion method. Therefore, Quizizz may be considered a viable alternative or supplementary strategy for classroom instruction in the online Filipino literature class.
