Abstract

The importance of graduate studies is recognized because of its ability to develop research and leadership skills, and specialization in areas to improve the theory and practice of education. The research is based on the concept that higher education contributes to increased employment opportunities and is seen as a strategic resource that adds value to individuals. This is according to the Human Capital Theory, which emphasizes the importance of education in increasing employment opportunities and the value of people in the labor market. With the competition in the international and domestic labor market on the rise, institutions such as Luna Colleges need to make sure that they equip students with knowledge that will be helpful for them in their careers. The main objective of this study was to analyze the significance of the graduate school curriculum of Luna Colleges in relation to the professional achievements of its graduates in the Master of Arts in Education degree. In accordance with the objectives, a descriptive-correlational methodology was employed in the conduct of the study. To collect information from 51 graduates who had been employed on a permanent basis, a standardized survey instrument on curriculum relevance and career advancement was utilized. Based on the findings obtained, the curriculum appeared to be highly relevant to the graduates (Very High Relevance), with particular emphasis on the teaching quality and relevance of the subjects to current demands. When considering career advancement, the respondents stated a "High Extent" of success since their education made a substantial contribution to achieving high-level positions. In addition, using the method of Pearson’s correlation coefficient, it became clear that there is a very high level of correlation between curriculum relevance and career success, which is very significant. It was also found that there is no significant difference in career achievement across demographic characteristics such as age, sex, position, and graduation year.
