What your journal gets

Online submission

Authors submit Word or PDF manuscripts and follow their paper online. No template is required.

Peer review

Add reviewers to a manuscript, invite them by e-mail, collect their reports and record every decision.

Your editorial board

Editors and board members appear on your journal's own pages. Researchers can apply to join, and you approve them.

Issues and volumes

Each issue holds 10 articles. When the tenth is published, the issue is archived and the next one opens; volumes follow automatically.

Article pages and PDFs

Every accepted article gets its own page and a final PDF, laid out for you or uploaded by your editors; on postpaid journals, once the author has paid.

DOIs through Crossref

If your journal or institution is a Crossref member, add a deposit role for SciMatic and each new article's DOI is deposited under your prefix when it is published (on postpaid journals, once the author has paid).

Certificates

Publication certificates for authors, signed by your Editor-in-Chief once they upload a signature.

Easy to find

Article pages carry Google Scholar citation tags and are listed in SciMatic's sitemaps.

A permanent record

A blockchain record of each published article, and article pages that stay at permanent addresses.

Two ways to pay

Applying and setting up a journal is free. Publication fees apply only when an article is accepted, and you choose who pays them. Optional AI tools for editors are paid extras.

Prepaid

The journal's editor pays per accepted article

USD 5 per accepted article
USD 10 from 1 January 2027

  • The journal's editor pays SciMatic USD 5 for each accepted article, and nothing for submissions or rejections.
  • The fee is taken from the editor's SciMatic balance at acceptance. An article can be accepted only when the balance covers it.
  • Top up the balance online, by card or in USDT.
  • Whether and how much your journal charges its authors is your own decision. SciMatic does not set, collect or bill author fees, and takes no share.
  • Prepaid hosting is arranged with SciMatic: write to us and we set up your journals.

Suits journals whose editor pays for publication.

Postpaid

Authors pay after acceptance

USD 0 for the journal

  • Authors pay the article processing charge (APC) only after their paper is accepted: USD 50 by default, or the amount you set (at least USD 30).
  • SciMatic collects the APC and reminds authors about unpaid fees automatically.
  • The journal owner receives 50% of every APC SciMatic actually receives, credited to their SciMatic balance.
  • ZincirX Inc. pays the share in USDT or USDC to the owner's EpPay wallet once the balance reaches USD 100.
  • SciMatic charges the journal no hosting or publication fee.

Suits journals whose authors cover the cost of publication.

Apply to start a journal

A new journal, or one you already have

Start a new journal

ZincirX Inc. owns and publishes it under the SciMatic brand, title and ISSN included, and it stays on SciMatic if you step down. Once its first issue of 10 articles is complete, ZincirX Inc. applies for the ISSN, at the U.S. ISSN Center wherever possible.

Bring a journal with its own ISSN

Your institution stays the owner and publisher of the journal, its title and its ISSN, and SciMatic hosts it. You may move it elsewhere with 60 days' written notice; articles published on SciMatic stay at their permanent addresses and are not transferred.

The terms in brief

  • Articles are open access under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence.
  • Copyright in articles published on SciMatic is held by ZincirX Inc., as authors agree when they submit.
  • Your editors keep full editorial control. The Editor-in-Chief keeps the role for life, unless they step down, materially breach the agreement or the law requires a change.
  • Your journal runs genuine peer review and follows the COPE Core Practices as far as they apply.
  • You sign the Journal Publishing Agreement online when you apply. It is governed by the laws of Delaware, USA.
