Semesters, the class QR code and attendance

Each semester of a subject is one class, with its own students, attendance, notices, homework and exams.

Add a semester

Open a subject in the Teacher Panel to see its semesters, each with its year, season, dates and status (Active or Closed). Click New Semester and enter the year, season, start and close dates and, if you want, a semester key that students must enter to join. Once a semester's close date has passed, only you can open it.

Click Go on a semester to open its dashboard: the class times you add, overview cards, and a sidebar to every section.

The class QR code and link

On the semester dashboard, Show class QR opens a large QR code with the class link, a Copy link button and Full screen for the classroom screen. Show the code in class, or share the link.

  • A student who has not joined yet is taken to join the class, with the semester key if you set one. On the subject's page, students see Join where you see Go.
  • After that, opening the class page marks the student present for that day: once a day, at any time of day.
  • The class times on the dashboard (day, start and end) are shown to the class; they do not limit check-in.
Students and attendance

The Students section lists everyone enrolled. A green dot means present today, a red one absent. Click a student to see the days they were present, or to remove them from the class. Students can also leave a class they joined.
