Publication: fees, DOI and certificate

When your article is accepted you receive the e-mail "Manuscript Accepted — Publication Fee Required". Most journals charge an article processing charge (APC). Each journal sets its own amount, shown on its About page and in the submission window.

Paying the publication fee

Open the link in the e-mail, or click Pay Fee & Publish on your article under Accepted, and pay within one month: from your SciMatic balance, in USDT, or by card where it is offered. The amount is shown before you pay; a submission fee you paid for the article is deducted from it.

Your article's title, abstract and authors are listed as soon as it is accepted, and the final PDF is typeset once the fee is paid. Reminders are sent 7, 20 and 28 days after acceptance. Some journals collect their fee themselves (prepaid journals): their submission window says so, and the editorial office contacts you about payment.

Your published article
  • Article page – a permanent page with View PDF, Cite This Article and share buttons.
  • DOI – journals that register DOIs give your article one: a free DOI from Zenodo (CERN), registered by SciMatic, or a Crossref DOI under the journal's own prefix. Where you pay the publication fee, the DOI is registered once it is paid. It appears on the article page once it is registered.
  • Certificate – every author can open View Publication Certificate on the article page and print it or save it as a PDF. A printed certificate posted to you can be ordered for a fee.

Articles are published open access under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence. The copyright is held by ZincirX Inc., the publisher of SciMatic, and the authors are always credited as the authors.
