SciMatic journals take your manuscript as one file: Word (.docx) or PDF, up to 20 MB. Other formats, such as the older .doc, are not accepted; save the file as .docx or PDF first.

What to include

• a title of four words or more;
• all authors with their affiliations and e-mail addresses;
• an abstract of 50 to 600 words;
• keywords;
• the full text with figures and tables in place, and your references.

If the journal publishes author guidelines or a template on its Author's Info page, follow them. SciMatic reads the authors and keywords from your file, so a clearly laid-out first page saves you typing.

Where you upload it

You upload the file in the step after choosing the journal, together with the article type: click the drop area or drag the file onto it, then click Continue. To change the file later, use Replace File in the top bar of the manuscript page.

After the upload

SciMatic reads your title page and lists the authors it found, ready to add, along with the keywords. Check them, and the abstract, before you submit. Uploading the file does not send it to the journal: that happens only when you click Submit and sign the Submission Agreement.
